In July 1892,
Christ Church as it is known now was organized as
"The Christ German Evangelical Church." By December of that year,
a new church building was dedicated. In 1940 the Evangelical Synod
merged with the Reformed Church and we became "Christ Evangelical
and Reformed Church." In 1957, the Evangelical and Reformed Church
merged with the Congregational Christian Churches and we then became
"Christ Church-United Church of Christ."
As our denomination was undergoing all these changes, our congregation
continued to grow. After 70 years in the original white church, we
dedicated our current beautiful church building in 1964. In 1984,
the congregations of the Church of the Master and Christ Church
joined together to form a new unity.
